Taryn-Maie Wille, an old-Kingswoodian currently studying in Stellenbosch University, will once again showcase her talent on the world stage in the Elite Cross-Triathlon World Championships in Spain at the end of April. While the ITU Championships will take place in Pontevreda, Spain, from 26 April to 4 May, Wille’s event, the Elite Cross-Triathlon, will take place on Tuesday 30 April.

Another year of university rugby kicks off on Monday 18 February, with the start of the 2019 FNB Varsity Shield tournament coming on Monday 18 February. This will be the third year in a row that Rhodes University will be participating in the competition, having won their promotion/relegation match against the University of Zululand at the end of 2018.

Smash the 2018 Pineapple Run
The annual Buco Kowie Striders Pineapple Run will once again take place this coming weekend, challenging runners to race from the Big Pineapple in Bathurst to the Port Alfred Country Club. The event, which contains both a 27km and 10km race, is set to take place on Saturday 6 October, with runners from across the province expected to Smash the 2018 Pineapple Run.
Rhino Run for conservation
The Rhino Run, an annual conservation running event, will take place this Sunday 16 September in cities across the country. The Run will take place in Kenton, Port Elizabeth, George, Cape Town, Durban and in Gauteng, will see a growing number of people take to the trails in order to raise awareness and funds in support of rhino conservation.
