A 21km smile with Tsepiso on 25 August

Local celebrity Tsepiso Nzayo will be one of the pairs of feet completing the GBS Mutual Bank Mountain Drive Half Marathon on 25 August. The entrepreneur who stuck his neck out to pioneer isiXhosa stand-up and a Grahamstown (Makhanda) comedy club, long before the Festival made stand-up comedy fashionable, is also a more than competent long-distance runner who recently completed the Comrades Marathon.

One day left to catch GBS Mountain Drive 21km early bird!

There’s a day left to catch the discounted early bird registration for the GBS Mutual Bank Mountain Drive Half Marathon on 25 August. Organised by Rotary in partnership with Albany Saints & Sinners Multisport Club, the event’s first 200 entrants get a T-shirt. The first 400 get a goodie bag. Early birds who enter today or tomorrow also receive a Mugg & Bean voucher redeemable anywhere in South Africa.

GBS Mutual Bank event gets its logo-legs!

The GBS Mutual Bank Mountain Drive Half Marathon was announced last month as an all Grahamstown affair, with GBS Mutual Bank being named as the sponsor, and has just released their official event logo and branding. The race, which is set to take place on August 25, is being hosted this year by the Rotary Club of Grahamstown Sunset, and looks to bring athletes back to Grahamstown in what is a family-orientated fun day.
